Sofia Reyes

Sofia trained as a graphic designer, taught herself CSS to stop arguing with engineers about pixels, and has worked on both sides of the handoff ever since. At Northwind she leads the design system behind 11 products, from the Figma library to the CSS tokens that ship in code.

Her teaching starts from the decision, not the tool: why this spacing, why this contrast, why this component has three variants and not seven. She critiques the work in front of you the way a good design lead does, specific and kind, and expects you to defend your choices.

Her exercises end with a short written rationale, because explaining a choice is half the job. From Sofia you get a vocabulary designers and developers share, and files and stylesheets someone else can pick up a year later.
