Liam Patel

Liam started as a business analyst who got tired of copying numbers between spreadsheets, so he learned SQL, then Python, then enough statistics to know when a chart is lying. At Datawheel he leads the team that builds forecasting and churn models for retail clients.

He teaches analysis as a series of questions from real stakeholders: why did revenue jump, which customers are about to leave, is this result worth acting on? You write the query, check the numbers by hand, and only then reach for a model. He is blunt about data leakage and patient about everything else.

He also teaches the unglamorous habits that make an analyst trusted: checking row counts after every join, writing assumptions down, and saying "not yet" when the data is thin. Learners leave with reproducible notebooks and SQL they can defend line by line in a meeting.
