What you’ll learn

  • Build interactive UIs with components, props, and state
  • Set up a modern React 19 + Vite workflow from scratch
  • Handle events, forms, and controlled inputs confidently
  • Manage side effects with useEffect the right way
  • Compose complex screens from small, testable pieces
  • Ship a finished project to production on Vercel

Who it’s for

React is how most product teams build interfaces today, and the fundamentals have never been smaller or clearer. You start from an empty folder, set up React 19 with Vite, and learn the handful of ideas that do most of the work: components, props, state, events and effects. Every lesson ends with something you build and run in the browser.

The whole course builds one real app, a Watchlist for the movies you want to see. You add titles through a form, mark them watched, filter the list, and keep it in localStorage so it survives a refresh. In the last section you style it with Tailwind CSS v4, deploy it to Vercel, and leave with a live URL and a clear plan for what to learn next.

Who it’s for
Career switchers and junior developers who know some HTML, CSS and JavaScript and want to build real interfaces with React.
Before you start
Comfortable JavaScript basics: variables, functions, arrays, objects, arrow functions and array methods like map and filter.

Hands-on practice

  • Guided exercises: spot the bug, fill the command, order the steps.
  • Build React components in a live playground — checks run as you go.
  • Write JavaScript and run it in a sandbox with automatic checks.

Maya has spent nine years building interfaces people use every day, most recently Verse's document editor, where a slow keystroke turns into a bug report within the hour. She learned JavaScript before frameworks were the default, moved to React in 2016, and picked up React Native when Verse shipped its mobile app.

I'd bounced off React twice before. The pacing here finally made components click.

Short lessons, real project, zero filler. Finished it in two weeks of lunch breaks.

Great fundamentals. I'd love a deeper section on useEffect edge cases, but it's an excellent start.
